Sandra Allik’s work is both abstract and representational. Color is the most important component in all her paintings: vibrant primaries, layered and opaque or translucent and fragile. The works are subtly narrative with hidden meanings under vibrant surfaces that are both simple and complex. Thornton Wilder said: “Art is confession; art is the secret told. But art is not only the desire to tell one’s secret; it is the desire to tell it and hide it at the same time.” Allik has exhibited both here and abroad.
